Nice to meet you. Donations to the museum

Since its foundation, the MACS has benefited from the generosity of artists, collectors and galleries who have proposed, to its acquisition committee, works as donations. To date, its collection includes about a hundred pieces acquired in this way. If some donations have made it possible to complete sets of works that have otherwise been the subject of purchases by the Fédération Wallonie-Brussels, others have made possible the integration of pieces that the Museum had previously exhibited and, in some cases, produced. Reflecting the diversity of its collection in terms of disciplines, this ensemble testifies above all to themes and dialectics particularly present in contemporary art: collective/individual memory, social/private body, natural/mental landscape. Placed under the sign of the meeting that produces affects (according to Spinoza), the exhibition Nice to meet you is an invitation to discover a part of this fund through a choice of works arranged precisely by affinities. It is also an opportunity to thank all those who, through their donations, have contributed to enriching the Museum's collection.
