Nausea - Oona Libens

Nausea immerses you in the underwater world through a short lecture-performance. A voice-over guides the audience into the depths of the ocean. Starting at the surface, we see various sea creatures, their ways of life and unique characteristics. Analogue projections, reflections and shadows are projected onto a screen and manipulated in real time. This miniature performance is a combination of a slide show and shadow theatre. Think of it as an analogue PowerPoint presentation inspired by 19th-century popular science shows, in which the latest scientific discoveries were explained to the public using magic lanterns and phantasmagoria.
