Marcel sings Boudewijn, Marcel de Groot

As one of the best-known singer-songwriters of the Netherlands, Boudewijn de Groot started as a protest singer, and later became known for, among others, 'Welterusten meneer de president', 'Het Land van Maas en Waal', 'Als de rook om je hoofd is verdwenen', 'Prikkebeen', 'Jimmy' … The idea of performing his father's repertoire had been on Marcel's mind for a long time. With multi-instrumentalists Martin Bakker (Nits, Freek de Jonge …) and Rens van der Zalm (Frank Boeijen, Youp van ’t Hek …), son Marcel goes browsing through the richly filled oeuvre of Boudewijn. In 'Marcel sings Boudewijn', the audience gets a beautiful overview with stories and anecdotes from a unique career. Both at the Sinksenfeesten in Kortrijk and at the Gentse Feesten, there was a particularly large turnout for this concert by Marcel de Groot. The proof that the songs of Boudewijn are still very much alive. The audience sang along at the top of their lungs every time!
