Cultuurcentrum De Adelberg, Lommel
€16–18
Het Van Baerle Trio proves how a piano trio can excel in energy, sharpness, and interplay. Pianist Hannes Minnaar, violinist Maria Milstein, and cellist Gideon den Herder have been playing together since 2004 and have grown into a permanent fixture on international stages, from intimate chamber music halls to large concert halls in Vienna, London, and Paris. In Lommel, too, they already proved how their playing can be simultaneously powerful and refined.
That close ensemble sound is clearly expressed in this program that brings different styles together. The concert opens with a clear and balanced piano trio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. With the short, colorful pieces by Lili Boulanger, the ensemble provides the necessary contrast. In Ackermusik van Theo Loevendie, on the other hand, emphasizes rhythm and interplay. The evening is concluded with the distinctly romantic tone of Felix Mendelssohn.
Expect a varied program that gives the trio every opportunity to fully show its qualities.
