Jonas Vermeulen - Walden

In a rhythmic and poetic language, a whimsical monologue unfolds. Acteur Jonas Vermeulen wrote the text entirely in rhyme and flirts with the musicality of slam poetry. In this solo performance, Jonas Vermeulen portrays a character who places the evil of the world on his neighbors. At the same time, he asks himself fundamental questions. Anger, doubt, and desire flow together in his tirade. Walden is a sharp and current performance about how we relate to each other and our environment. Is action the solution, or does wisdom lie in taking distance? Jonas Vermeulen was inspired by Walden by author Henry David Thoreau and wrote a new, idiosyncratic text. Jonas Vermeulen was a guitarist for Psycho 44 for years and acted with renowned companies such as FC Bergman, Ontroerend Goed, Olympique Dramatique, and hetpaleis. On screen, he could be seen in films and series such as In Vlaamse Velden, Den elfde van den elfde, Studio Tarara, and Zillion. With artistic partner in crime Boris Van Severen, he made several music theater performances. Last year, they stood on the stage of the Bourla with Opus Apparatus.
