After valuable experience as Directeur Artistique within various Munich agencies, he pursues his entrepreneurial vision by founding his own company, HYPERSCREEN, specializing in museum design, multimedia, e-learning and 3D design. Since 1996, the artist has been an active member of the Union of Artistes Plasticiens of Germany, Bavaria section. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions; among the most recent are his graphics exhibition in Lille, France (October 2024) and painting exhibition at Musée National Brukenthal de Sibiu (2025). These add to a track record including landmark exhibitions in locations such as Ingolstadt and Vohburg (2009, 2013, 2015). "Extracted from everyday life and rendered in essentialized forms, through defining lines, the figures that animate the world the artist invites us into possess singular expressivity. These are distinguished by a capacity for formal synthesis and a refinement of the figurative, where rigorous selection of details never cancels out the spontaneity of gesture. The expressionism of faces meets a hieratic quality of representation, a taste for the austere expressivity of line, mixed with a kind of primitivism with caricatural accents, marked by the freshness of expression and narrative agility. The works of Lucian Binder-Catana are not a refuge fleeing everyday reality towards artistic fiction. The translation between the general and the individual, and vice versa, brings the viewer to realize that we are all — individually, in groups or as a society — confronted with the situations and emotions embodied in his works. His creation is a reaction, a civic attitude. The playful note resembles a bitter smile or, sometimes, the artist's strength to transcend sadness and discontent to look to the future with optimism.
