Film 'Harold and Maude'

Harold and Maude (Hal Ashby - 1971) Harold is a 19-year-old boy who lives at home with his manipulative mother. He occupies himself with staging his own death and attending funeral services. During one of these services, Harold meets 79-year-old Maude. Even though he keeps a bit of distance from her at first, they become good friends at a certain moment. Terwijl Harolds mother tries to get him out of the house in various ways — first by sending him to the army and then by setting him up with different girls — the relationship between Harold and Maude continues to blossom more and more. On the evening that Maude turns eighty, Harold decides to ask her to marry him, but just before his ultimate marriage proposal, Maude tells him with a smile that she has taken pills and that she will step out of life with her whole body, mind and his around midnight.
