Sunday visit: The medieval dwelling of Chestrevin

Sun, 2 Aug 2026 · 14:00
Chestrevin, Onhaye
Occupied since Antiquity, the site of Chestrevin was the seat of an agricultural estate in the 13th century. The lordly tower and its outbuildings were destroyed during the War of the Cow. Around 1300, the eponymous family proceeded with the construction of a new dwelling that is surprising for its architecture, which is uncommon in the region, asserting a residential function more than a defensive one. Enjoy this exceptional visit to the surroundings of the farm of Chestrevin/Herlem! Access via the "chaussée romaine" (Roman road) street (address Herlem 1) and parking in the path leading to the farm at the entrance to the site Duration of the visit: 1h30 Reservation essential - (payment on site, cash only)
