Visit to organ, carillon, tower and church
Historical church in different construction phases, from the year 800. There is a video playing about the excavations in and the restoration of the church.
Church: free digital tour via own smartphone/4G. (Scan QR code on site.)
Tour of the tower: first up to the organ loft.
Visit to the restored Delahaye organ from 1723. Demo and performance.
Continue to the tower. Floor with the old clock mechanism.
Floor with the 4 bells (lower sound holes): Petrus, Paulus, Onze-Lieve-Vrouw and Angelus. The latter can only be rung with a bell rope.
Uurwerkverdieping
Beiaard floor (upper sound holes). Meet the carillonneur there. Demo and performance that you can experience live. Also enjoy the magnificent view!
Practical info:
Attention: the full climb consists of 150 stairs. The last part is quite steep. Make sure to wear well-closed shoes!
It is always windy in the tower: bring a jacket if necessary.
