Camille Camille
Intieme, atmospheric and delicate folk.
Camille Camille is the alter ego of the Belgian singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist Camille Willemart. For her music, she is inspired by the folk tradition and browses through themes such as connection, inner reflection, observation, and nature. She is known for her intimate writing style and delicate sounds and always knows how to put down vulnerable and at the same time powerful songs.
Her music reminds one of artists like Josephine Foster (admired last year during our Orchard Sessions) and Robbie Basho, with songs built around soft fingerpicking arrangements, subtle melodies, and above all her compelling voice.
After an impressive introduction during De Nieuwe Lichting in 2019, the debut album ‘Could You Lend Me Your Eyes’ appeared in 2021. After the release, she toured through Europe and the Verenigd Koninkrijk with King Hannah, Widowspeak, and Kurt Vile, bringing her intimate music to an international audience. In 2023, she released the EP ‘Waving’ together with Sam De Nef.
Through her live performances and recordings, she creates an atmosphere of closeness and sincerity, taking listeners into a quiet world in which emotions continue to resonate. Her work is carried by sobriety, warmth, and authenticity.
Camille’s second album, ‘Enchanted Sea’, will be released on the day we announce this concert via Labelman. Come discover it live this autumn in Diksmuide!
