Words to say... A poetic recital in tribute to Marie-Claire Beyer

Wed, 3 Jun 2026 · 20:00
Museum Maurice Carême, Brussels
On Wednesday, June 3 at 8 PM, the "white house" of Maurice Carême will be the setting for a poetry recital that will pay tribute to the actress and reciter Marie-Claire Beyer (1937-2025), through the texts of poets she appreciated. Diplômée du Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, Marie-Claire Beyer led a theatrical career while developing work in reading and voicing poetic texts. She collaborated notably with the Théâtre-Poème, the Midis de la poésie, and the Théâtre de l’Esprit frappeur. For the RTBF, she created and hosted the show Poèmes pour tous les jours. During this recital, some of the authors she loved to speak and transmit will be evoked: Christian Bobin, Maurice Carême, Colette, Yves-William Delzenne, Patrice Fincoeur, Khalil Gibran, Maurice Maeterlinck, Jeanine Moulin, Charlotte Néwashish-Flamand, Norge, Odilon-Jean Périer, Sei Shōnagon, Andrée Sodenkamp, Lucie Spède, Jules Supervielle and Liliane Wouters. Their poems will be carried by Pietro Pizzuti and Laurence Vielle, whose voices will intertwine with that of Marie-Claire Beyer, under the melodies of Ryūichi Sakamoto, in a spatial arrangement by Patrice Fincoeur.
