Where we come from, Jan Van Looveren

I grew up in a farming village, Ekeren, where my youth glided along the seasons. With six friends, the Bonanza boys. Without cell phones, without the digital storm that is blowing now. Only the street as our playing field. Life was simple, the days seemed to crawl. If only I could return once more, crawl back into the fantasy of back then. Be a cowboy again. That child of back then, free from tomorrow. What did we know of what was to come, or of what we had never seen. Jan Van Looveren returns to his youth, to a time when everything was still simple, far away from the fast life now. His biggest question as a child was whether he wanted to play the cowboy or the Indian. A carefree existence, then, but was everything really so simple back then or did it only seem that way? This strong, comical monologue with live music is a warm and recognizable look back that leaves no one untouched.
