About the ensemble In 2021, six young musicians met at LUCA School of Arts in Leuven. A strong friendship formed with a shared love for chamber music. In 2022, the ensemble made a convincing debut with the program ‘Roaring Twenties’ and was invited to venues such as Flagey and Amuz. It was also a guest at, among others, the Meander Festival, Chamberfest Gent, and Kamermuziek Jong Vlaanderen. Two years later, the ensemble crossed the border to the Netherlands for the first time, where it is now a welcome guest. In 2025, the ensemble enriched their repertoire with contemporary music by collaborating with the young composer Yentl Tijssens. This resulted in the work ‘De Fiere Margriet’, with which the ensemble was invited to the Koninklijke Academie for the Arts in Brussels in 2026. A recent highlight was the radio debut on Klara in 2026. As part of ‘De Twintigers’, the ensemble performed live recordings of Schumann's piano quintet and ‘De Fiere Margriet’ by Yentl Tijssens. About the program In this program, the beautiful chamber music works of Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann & Johannes Brahms resonate in various instrumentations, from duo to sextet. The music is interspersed and reinforced with their own words - which will sound through the halls via recorded letters in the voices of Clara Cleymans, Warre Borgmans, and Johannes Wirix-Speetjens. Letters in which hearts are opened about human emotions such as love, frustration, joy, sadness... With ‘Love, Clara’, the Tinel Ensemble seeks a multidisciplinary atmosphere, in which chamber music is not only combined with word, but also with an intimate lighting plan and decor. Three exceptional composers, connected by their shared passion for music and their admiration for each other's work, in an intimate and unique setting with a varied sound palette.
