Concert: Aleph Quintet

Die Brüsseler Gruppe Aleph Quintet draws from musical Traditionen Nordafrikas, the language of contemporary jazz, and Kraft der Improvisation to create a distinctive sound – deeply rooted yet constantly in motion. The five musicians with their diverse backgrounds develop a music of transition where captivating rhythms, modern harmonies, and the search for authenticity meet. Ihre Kunst thrives on connection – between cultures, eras, and emotions. Following the great success of their debut album "Shapes of Silence", which was widely acclaimed by critics, Aleph Quintet once again expands the boundaries of its musical creation with this new project. The five Brüsseler Musiker, who are now internationally recognized and enjoying attention on concert stages worldwide, present an album with "Hiwar" that impressively expresses their unmistakable musical signature: a bold combination of modern jazz and North African musical traditions. The Arabic word "Hiwar" means "dialogue" – a term that perfectly describes the spirit of this album: an exchange that connects and celebrates cultures, traditions, and innovations. Jedes Mitglied of the quintet brings his own musical world and life experience, shaping a powerful collective vision that is both rooted and contemporary. Das Aleph Quintet has been honored with numerous awards, including "Choc" and "Révélation" from Jazz Magazine, "Best International Band" by Jazz News, four stars from Le Soir, "Best Belgian Jazz Album" from Jazz à Liège, the French Music Press Prize, as well as the Silberne Tanit at the Journées Musicales de Carthage. Furthermore, the group has already performed in numerous countries, including Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Tunisia, Jordan, England, and Scotland.
