Women's emancipation The film questions the place of young women, their freedom to choose to be desired or simply respected, and their right to free themselves from predefined roles (the "madonna" vs. "temptress" complex). The narrative explores the hierarchy of romantic and sexual relationships among young people, in particular the distinction made by the group between "respectable" girls and those to marry. It highlights how boys are also victims of group dynamics.
