On the cozy little grass square at the renovated Ruiterhal, we are organizing three open-air films on Thursday, August 27, with something for every age. Come and enjoy a cozy afternoon and evening full of film fun, a refreshing drink, and a fun atmosphere, with hopefully pleasant summer weather! The films are free to attend; reservations are not necessary. Come on foot or by bike as much as possible. If you want to be sure of a seat, bring your own (camping) chair. Radioman (9 PM | 12+) May 1940. While the world balances on the edge of war, the paths of Elza, a young actress taking her first steps in the radio play studios, and Berre, a budding sound engineer with an almost magical hearing, cross in the iconic Flagey building in Brussels — from which the national radio broadcasts. He seeks support in the intangible power of sound, she in the enchantment of the radio plays. Their meeting ignites a spark of love that lifts them above the threat of their time. RADIOMAN is an immersive love film about passion, imagination, and the search for humanity in dark times. In the wonderful world of Belgian radio in the 40s, their love sounds louder than the noise of the approaching war – an echo of hope in a world that is about to lose its innocence. Besides this film, we are also showing: UP: 4 PM, 6+, 100min Team Spirit NXT Gen: 7 PM, 12+, 100min
