Carillon ringing around the Verrijzeniskerk

Discover a striking example of modern architecture in Kortrijk. Admire the special Verrijzeniskerk and get acquainted with its recently inaugurated bell tower.\n\nOn March 22, 1962, it was consecrated by Mgr. De Smedt de Verrijzeniskapel. De Zusters of O.-L.-Vrouw van Bijstand commissioned the construction of this convent and school chapel next to the Lyceum O.-L.-Vrouw van Vlaanderen. The designer of both the polygonal three-layer concrete structure and the chapel interior was designer André Desmedt, while engineer-architect Roland D’hondt handled the preparatory study work. In implementation of the Kortrijkse Kerkenbeleidsplan, the Resurrection Chapel was elevated to a parish church in early 2021. In May 2026, a bell tower was consecrated next to the church, in which 4 bells, each with their own history, were given a new destination.
