Two people balance between past and future in a tender, musical performance about standing still while in motion. Two people. They are in the middle of life. Too old to still be young. Too young to accept that nothing is possible or necessary anymore. They are 'surplace' – like in cycling: balancing on the pedals, they are in full motion, but they are not moving forward. In Surplace Mieke Laureys and Danny Ronaldo move between yesterday and tomorrow, between melancholy and desire, between dreams and reality.
