Bruxelles Sauvage: Animal stories in the heart of the city
When you think of Brussels, do you mostly imagine office buildings, roaring cars and cobblestones? Look closer! Our capital is teeming with life — yesterday as today. On Thursday evening, August 20, we will hop on our bikes for the guided tour "Bruxelles Sauvage", a surprising exploration that highlights the complex, fascinating and sometimes tumultuous relationship between humans and animals in the city.
During this guided bike ride, we will cross the city and stop in places where history meets current events. Here is a preview of the animal stories that await you:
- Brussels on horseback: on the role of horses and equestrian sports in Brussels.
- Elephants and lions in the city: a dive into the history of the Brussels zoo in the 19th century.
- Zinnekes & rats: on the Brussels street dog and the least loved underground inhabitants of the city.
- The cunning fox in the metro and the gardens of Bruxelles
Rendez you at Grand Hospice.
