SMALL CLUB: Woody & The Nine Wives

For Voor de Eindhovense artist Woody Veneman, standing still is not an option. In his 20-year career, he has made dozens of albums with various bands, duos, and ad-hoc ensembles in a range of genres. After playing endlessly as Woody Sings, with covers of his heroes, and after various projects — from rousing analog techno with the six-piece S.T. Cordell to the tragic-romantic country duo Polly & Bruce and the acoustic folk duo Woody & Paul (good for seven albums) — it is now time for Veneman himself. His own material, own songs, own work. The man and his guitar, where it all once began. Collaborating is in Veneman's blood. Tonight he therefore also brings some songs with a ruthless rhythm section: drummer Lola Heijdt and bassist Joni Houtman. Together they form the trio Woody & The Nine Wives.
