Bat Eyes De Belgische indie rock band BAT EYES reappears with a series of new singles, the first new material since their self-titled debut from 2022. Instead of the bright, hook-driven songs that put the quartet on the map as one of the more intriguing guitar bands in Belgium, “Alamine” comes in as something smaller, softer, and deliberately blurry at the edges. A song that feels as if it drifted in from another room and decided to stay. Formed around singer-songwriter Koen Wijnant, Bat Eyes built their name with tight power-pop melodies and a clear penchant for ’90s indie rock. As a focused four-piece band, with Luna De Bruyne, Tomas Serrien, and Birger Ameys, the new material suggests an album that moves freely between blurring and clarity, restraint and outburst, and confirms that the band is just as comfortable with hard hitting as with dreamy drifting. With the light, sepia-tinted single “It’s Not Real”, Bat Eyes announces their second album Murch, which will be released on September 18 via [PIAS].
