Between what you think you hear and what actually comes out of the speakers. With Met Rudeboy and DJ DNA in the ranks, it is tempting to look back. Understandable. After more than a hundred shows under the banner of Rudeboy Plays Urban Dance Squad, from festivals like Hellfest and Pukkelpop to legendary venues throughout Europe, the band decided it was time to break open something new. Thus Sons Of The Culture Clash was born: a new formation, new songs, and a renewed dedication to musical disobedience. The ingredients might sound familiar. The result does not. Grooves that bounce and bite. Guitars with a short fuse. Beats that refuse to stick to the schedule. And a voice that still prefers to light the fuse rather than explain the instruction manual. No nostalgic look back. No museum piece. No attempt to reproduce a moment that has already taken place. New songs dominate, but some Urban Dance Squad classics still refuse to retire with dignity.
