MA Festival: InAlto: Crecquillion, Lassus, Monteverdi & Josquin

Two love stories, but also two histories of loss and memory. In a musical fresco spanning two centuries, InAlto tells these stories through music by Crécquillon, di Lasso, Monteverdi, and des Prez. After the death of his wife in childbirth, Charles V turns to Titian and Thomas Crécquillon with the request to paint posthumous portraits on canvas and in notes. Or how a longing for memory can crystallize loss into timeless beauty.
