Live@The Living Room: Lightspeed

LIGHTSPEED is the project around songwriter Rik Bontinck. Under a blend of melancholy and bravado, the band serves a sweaty salvo of boisterous indie rock. That the quartet is also driven by a lot of extravagant guitars, existential preaching, and the commandments of a bunch of overseas sinners, already pounds inside without too much pardon. Briefly summarized: indie with loose laces and a somewhat persistent hatred of speed limits - nothing that can go wrong then. Since its inception in 2023, LIGHTSPEED has been building a solid live reputation with victories in competitions such as Sound Track (laureate East Flanders), the Waas LAWIJTSTRIJD, and as support for, among others, SONS, DIRK, Ramkot, Basht. (IRL), and The Belair Lip Bombs (AUS). Moreover, the band was named one of the nine finalists of De Nieuwe Lichting 2026 of Studio Brussel.
