Performer, kora musician and Belgian-Cameroonian composer, Lubiana weaves music without borders, between Africa, Europe and Amérique du Nord. Carried by emotion, she mixes pop songwriting, airy melodies and organic sounds, in a subtle play of resonances inspired by blues and gospel. At the heart of her pieces: the kora, urban and classical influences, united in a cohesive and mixed style. Nourished by her travels in Africa and her passages through London, Paris or Los Angeles, she shapes a singular identity. Her new album reflects this open quest, between the heritage of the master Toumani Diabaté and echoes of Lauryn Hill, Lianne La Havas or Gaël Faye. In French as in English, Lubiana reveals the multiple facets of an artist in motion. As part of the Festival au carré.
