A unique look behind the scenes of the monastery
Het Hospitaal van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ter Potterie is experiencing a triple anniversary year in 2026. The hospital is 750 years old, the Confraternity is 250 years old, and the museum opened for the first time a respectable 150 years ago. And all this time, it has been a place of care for the needy and the elderly.
Even for the people of Bruges, the Potterie remains a lesser-known place, a discovery even.
Practical info:
The church and the museum can be visited freely during Open Monumentenweekend, also on Saturday, September 12, between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
The monastery can be visited with the guidance of one of the members of the still-active Confrérie van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ter Potterie, who will each explain one aspect of the devotion and the building.
Reservations for a tour of the monastery buildings start on September 2 at 7:30 PM via the link next to this.
Accessibility:
A visit to the museum and the church of Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ter Potterie is possible with a small threshold; a visit behind the scenes of the monastery can only be done using several (difficult) stairs.
