'Lampje' is an adventure novel with a crazy heroine, but it is also an atmospheric and poetic contemporary fairy tale. It is a story about being brave and being able to do more than you ever thought. 'Lampje' is full of wonderful figures and characters that make the book a source of inspiration for everyone. Lampje lives with her father in a lighthouse. He is a lighthouse keeper, has only one leg, and drinks. Lampje must help keep the lighthouse burning every night. On a stormy night, things go wrong. Lampje is placed, away from her father, in the Zwarte Huis. A castle that is owned by a wealthy sea captain. Nobody wants to work there because a monster lives there. Maar Lampje does not believe in monsters. With a mountain of puppet violence, acting talent, live music, and video, they bring this giant of youth literature to the stage.
