De Drie Emmekes: Mieke, Marijke and Marlene are members of Westelfolk and play traditional music on traditional instruments and this at a very high level. The three ladies have been playing together for many years and have developed a unique sound that they convey with various traditional instruments: diatonic accordion, violin, clogs fiddle, hammered dulcimer, drone zither... Sometimes they take a musical step towards the rest of folk music when all three of them are in love with a melody. This can be both cheerful and melancholic, but the Emmekes style remains characteristic and recognizable in the repertoire.
