A performance about light. With light. Through light. Light chooses what is visible. It reveals the space or leaves it in the dark, creates shadows and tension. In this performance, Gilles Pollak searches for a theater of light. How can you play with different types of light? How can you create different atmospheres with a minimum of light? Light from a light bulb, from a fluorescent tube, a disco ball, light on a desk, or from a high street lamp on the street. ‘lightparticles inc.’ gives a glimpse of how the magic of theater is created by playing with light. With only a suitcase full of lamps, Gilles leaves the stage and invites you into the parking garage of Schouwburg Noord. There, the lamps enter into a surprising game with each other, and Pollak creates a whole new world of imagination. ‘lightparticles inc.’ is a visual, wordless performance in which light changes tell the story. A performance about light. With light. Through light. Gilles Pollak (1996) obtained his master's degree in Scenography at the HKU and his bachelor's degree in Stage Technology at the RITCS. He works as a lighting designer, scenographer, and theater maker at various companies in the Netherlands and Belgium and is a member of theater collectives WOLF WOLF and Camping Sunset. He shares his expertise on light in workshops and at various theater schools where he supervises students. Everyone from 9 years old can enjoy this performance. So bring your (grand)children along.
