Open churches days at Saint-Julien church

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Ath church council is organizing the Open Churches Day at Saint-Julien Church from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM on the theme "Divinely funny: the hidden humor of heritage." "Joy is the most beautiful face of faith." Religious heritage is a place of contemplation, but also of discovery and smiles. A heritage to be rediscovered. The hidden humor of heritage allows for the discovery of a joyful, human, and sometimes humorous dimension of the religious in art and architecture. In collaboration with the Cercle dialectal d’Ath (Ath Dialect Circle), a presentation of a selection of texts in the Picard dialect of Ath about the Cron Pastour (the last night watchman), Ballalarme (the town crier), bells, and the bell tower of Saint-Julien Church.
