The fort is certainly at its most beautiful during the summer months as far as flora is concerned and we enjoy that during a quiet walk where we also have an eye for insects, butterflies, dragonflies, and birds hidden in the greenery or not. Hopefully, it will be a beautiful sunny day and we can talk afterwards about all the beauty we saw with a drink on the terrace of our home base “de IJsvogel”.
