SOLO (12+)

For the first time, Pepijn Ronaldo is alone on stage. In ‘SOLO’ he steps out of the safe circle of Circus Ronaldo and goes in search of his own artistic voice. Pepijn carries the trail of seven generations of comedians with him: as a child he already traveled along. At 9 he played a full role in Circenses and after his training (circus humanities Leuven and Théâtre Lassaad Brussel) he returned to the family in 2020. Since then he could be seen in ‘Applaus’, ‘Da Capo’ and ‘Sono io?’, for which he received an award for best acting performance (under 30) in 2022. ‘SOLO’ is a performance about the moment you live towards as a child and look back on as an older person. In an intimate dialogue with the audience, almost as if you are the jury, Pepijn gropes in the dark for what is “good enough”. Expect a chain of ideas and atmospheres: nostalgic, clownish, interactive, threatening and physical, with a subtle echo of ‘Sono io?’. ‘SOLO’ is an ambitious journey against time.
