We start our day with a visit to the visitor center of the Brug van Vroenhoven: This modern experience center tells the impressive story of the bridges over the Albert Canal, the world of the canals, inland shipping, and the events during the Tweede Wereldoorlog. With fascinating stories,
photos, and interactive presentations, we dive back into the history of this region for a moment.
After the visit, it is time to dine together cozily at
De Waterburcht. We enjoy a delicious three-course menu:
• Velouté of cave mushrooms
• Riemster stew with cave beer, fries, and mixed salad
• Coupe Negresco with Riemster advocaat
An ideal opportunity to catch up quietly and enjoy the Limburg hospitality.
In the afternoon, we head to the impressive Grotten van Kanne. During a tour, we discover the special underground tunnel system that was carved into the marl centuries ago.
As a conclusion, a tasty tasting awaits with
local products from the cave – a tasteful experience! After a well-filled day, we return around 5:00 PM towards Waanrode.
