Homo Femina

With the project Homo Femina , we are going on a journey of discovery together into what it means to be a 'woman'. We look back at the past for a moment and place it next to the present. Along the way, we pause to consider self-image, body awareness, sexuality, role patterns, and the expectations that society places on women. Themes such as rivalry and sisterhood also get a place. Our own stories form the starting point, but we also open the door to other Mechelen residents. By listening to each other, asking questions, and sharing experiences, we seek connection and discover new perspectives. Do we still live in a man's world today? And what would a world look like in which female and male energy come together in balance? Homo Femina is a play that starts from real stories. It wants to touch, make people laugh, evoke recognition, and invite reflection. A performance that takes you into the question of what it really means to be a woman today. The music for this performance is provided by ZIMA . Some of the texts were created during our Open Schrijfatelier , where words, experiences, and voices came together.
