Griff Trio is an eclectic trio that shuffles between tradition and avant-garde. Throughout its various projects, the ensemble managed to create a new soundscape for the bagpipes. Besides bagpipes, the flute and singing also began to take an important place in the repertoire of Griff over the years. Polyphony is always the common thread.
For this project, Griff Trio moved to the generation of musicians who shaped the Belgian folk revival in the 60s and 70s. Pioneers thanks to whom instruments like the bagpipes, accordion, and hurdy-gurdy still sound today: Hubert Boone, Herman & Rosita Dewit, Marc Malempré, Alfred Den Ouden, and Marc Hauman.
A 21st-century troubadour trio!
