Music theater for the eye, ear, nose, mouth, skin & heart.
The Lady and the Unicorn is one of the most fascinating tapestry series from the 15th century. The artwork is considered an allegory of the five senses, but it comprises six tapestries. The final piece of the series refers to a mysterious sense - the so-called 'sense of the heart'.
Based on this historical imagination, HYPERSENSES explores the sensory experience of today. In a time of overstimulation and mental noise, this multisensory music performance invites you to pause attentively and reflect on what we experience.
Can tastes become audible, colors tangible, scents visible? Images, tastes, scents, and textures merge into live electro-acoustic music, while sonological layers blend with haunting 15th-century melodies, and the whole forms one layered sensory experience.
HYPERSENSES subtly unbalances the brain and immerses the audience in an intense intoxication where nothing is what it seems.
After the successful collaboration on the alchemical laboratory BALSAM and numerous performance series at home and abroad, Zefiro Torna and Laika are joining forces again for a performance that sharpens the senses.
