Open rehearsal of ‘Fatherload’ - David Labi

Thu, 18 Jun 2026 · 18:00
NV Zebrastraat, Ghent
Free
In this work-in-progress monologue, he explores modern fatherhood and what we pass on to the next generation in an honest and humorous way. On June 18, the Zebrastraat welcomes an open rehearsal of ‘Fatherload’, the new performance by David Labi. After his youth, David traveled halfway around the world, looking for adventure and cheap kicks. Today he is sober and faces the biggest challenge of his life: a child. His child. While the couscous and vomit fly around his ears, he asks himself the big questions: how do you raise a child while you are still growing yourself? How do you break the cycle of intergenerational trauma? And what happens to you when you snort milk powder? Fatherload will be a shamelessly honest, moving, and hilarious monologue about modern fatherhood and everything we, consciously or unconsciously, pass on to the next generation. The performance is currently in the research phase, with the premiere planned for the summer of 2026. Curious about the making process? Come by the open rehearsal on June 18 in hall Ned Kahn at the Zebrastraat. → Free admission → The performance will be performed in English
