WWI: Traces from the past, Frontal

Discover the traces of the ‘Groote Oorlog’ during this cultural bus trip in the Leie region. Along the way, you will be accompanied by guide and author Gil Bossuyt, who developed his long-standing interest in WWI into a strong expertise. We depart and end in Wielsbeke and follow the trail of the war through the region. The trip starts with a Wielsbeke pilot story and takes us further to, among others, the American cemetery ‘Flanders Field’ in Waregem, Machelen-aan-de-Leie, Anzegem, and Hulste. We conclude at the ‘Harlebeke New British Cemetery’, before returning to Wielsbeke. It will be a fascinating day full of facts, stories, and anecdotes of occupation and liberation. So that we will never forget how the past shaped our region. A must for anyone interested in stories from their own region.
