In a converted truck, there is a gray, concrete space where someone puts the same balls into the same bin day after day. But no one knows exactly why. Until the balls start talking back. What at first seems like a routine grows into a virtuoso game with collisions, gravity, and imagination. With 'Ballroom', Post uit Hessdalen creates a wordless circus and music theater performance on the border of labor, boredom, and escape. An intimate trip in which the logic of everyday life starts to bounce for a moment. About the company Post uit Hessdalen is the company of juggler and video maker Stijn Grupping and director Ine Van Baelen. They create hybrid performances in which circus, music theater, image, and rhythm reinforce each other. Bouncing balls, time, space, and repetition often form the starting point for work that couples technical ingenuity with a pronounced sense of dramaturgy. The company performs for a young and not-so-young audience, in diverse places: from theaters and circus festivals to schools, jazz clubs, parking lots, and public spaces.
