"The Father"

“The Father” (2020) is a poignant drama about Anthony (Anthony Hopkins), an 81-year-old man with dementia who is losing his grip on reality. The film shows confusingly and painfully how he, from his own perspective, struggles with recognizing people and locations. His daughter Anne (Olivia Colman) desperately tries to arrange the right care, while her father stubbornly rejects help. Na The Father follows a follow-up discussion with Karl Vanhuyse. From his experience and engagement with the Alzheimer's League, he brings an open and interactive exchange about dementia, with an eye for both the person themselves and the caregiver.
