Two Systems Lowie Vercammen and Louis De Backere both studied accordion at the Conservatorium van Gent under Philippe Thuriot. After graduating, they joined forces and formed the accordion duo Two Systems. In the chamber music competition Big Little Music Competition, they snatched both the jury prize and the audience prize in 2025. With a passion for both timeless classics and less-heard contemporary compositions, they take their listeners on a thoughtful and contemporary program. Nature is central in The Vier Jaargetijden by Vivaldi, in the contemporary reworking of Max Richter. This minimalist-inspired version is supplemented with Encounters by Uroš Rojko, a contemporary work that lets the accordion be heard in a broad and versatile sound perspective.
