Brussels x Seoul. Discover Korean Culture Across Brussels. For updates, maps, and contests, follow Brussels x Seoul on Instagram: @brusselsxseoul From June 26 to July 2, Brussels will host the first edition of Brussels x Seoul – Korean Culture & Stories, with nearly 40 participating locations across the city. Created and coordinated by Manok Dedoncker and Mariya Kyulyan, with the support of Didier Wauters, Alderman for Economic Affairs and Commerce of the City of Brussels, the project invites visitors to see Brussels differently, through Korean culture and through the places that give the city its character. Cafés, restaurants, bookstores, shops, galleries and cultural venues will take part in several Brussels neighborhoods. For one week, each place will offer something special: a Korean-inspired menu, a limited-time drink, a themed selection, a window display, an exhibition, an installation, a workshop, a performance, or a collaboration. Brussels x Seoul is not about gathering everything in one place. Korean culture will appear across the city, from one address to another. Visitors can follow the itinerary freely, stop where they like, and explore Brussels at their own pace. “We wanted Brussels x Seoul to feel close to the city: generous, curious, and full of surprises. Korean culture is part of everyday life now, through music, film, food, fashion, beauty, and design. With this project, visitors can discover Korea through Brussels, and Brussels through Korea,” say Manok Dedoncker and Mariya Kyulyan. This first edition comes at a special moment, with the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Korea, and the exceptional arrival of BTS in Brussels. The project also carries the spirit of "pali pali", the Korean expression often used to describe speed, energy, and the will to make things happen. For a few days, that energy will be felt across Brussels: in its neighborhoods, shops, cafés, cultural spaces, and everyday streets.
