Christmas concert 2650

The event: Kerstconcert 2650 on Friday, December 18, 2026 at 8:00 PM in the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes Basiliek in Edegem Het Basilicakoor under the direction of Lucas van Vlierberghe welcomes the audience and immediately gets everyone into the Christmas spirit. For the 2026 concert, we have once again chosen young talent for the first part. The non-profit organization Let Beauty Awake aims to offer development and support to talented non-professional musicians. The coach of this initiative is the Edegem pianist David Van Looveren.\n\nAfter the intermission follows the main guest. This year we chose the French cellist Clara Dietlin, laureate of this year's Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd. We always conclude with a medley of Christmas carols performed by all musicians. The audience can also sing along with them.\n\nThe ORFEO Orchestra under the direction of Elise Smout accompanies the solists and frames the whole with a few tailored orchestral pieces.
