Uw vlees en bloed   In the brand-new passion of Jef Neve, with text by Jeroen Olyslaegers, an unexpected voice speaks: a 'storytelling mother'. “What do you want me to bring? A beautiful story about courage, or something that is shaky on its feet?” Niet God of Jezus is central, but a regular person, a noble unknown. In this humane passion, just like with Bach complete with choirs, recitatives, arias, and chorales, music and text together make a plea for embracing the chaos of life as part of a meaningful existence. The innocent lamb navigates between the entire catalog of challenges of our time: from flight shame, climate activism, and social media, to toxic leadership and populism. In his or her own way, it is sacrificed and comes back to life – meditating, asking questions, singing. Soliste An Pierlé moves in the role of mother between witness and protagonist. Together with the vocal ensemble Reflection and Baroque Orchestration X, a rich dialogue between voices and instruments is created. The musical direction is in the hands of Patrick Windmolders.
