Oko Yono

Oko Yono is the power band of four strong female musicians: Annelies Van Dinter, Myrthe Luyten, Birsen Uçar and Caitlin Talbut. They each earned their stripes with bands like Echo Beatty, Astronaute, Hydrogen Sea and BLUAI. They bundle their unique voices in an homage to female artists from the second feminist wave of the 60s and 70s, such as Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, The Ronettes, Judee Sill and Linda Perhacs. In addition to music, inspiring texts and speeches by influential women are also given a place in the show via visuals and audio fragments. Together with Annelies, Myrthe, Birsen and Caitlin you relive the activist time of then. Expect no weapons but words, no bullets but flowers.
