To start the annual fair weekend in beauty, Mugger Hugger and DJ Bootsie Butsenzeller enter our stage.
Mugger Hugger
Post-post-post punk of the highest order. Mugger Hugger, a frontal collision between PJ Harvey and Sonic Youth, found its roots in Antwerp. Singer/bassist Dora Brams’s Harveyesque vocal color ebbs over an infinite guitar solo that flows effortlessly from Midas Heuvinck’s fingertips while Simon Pas drums his unique mathematical nonchalance. A new young and rebellious sound from Antwerp. Innovative, yet familiar.
DJ Bootsie Butsenzeller
DJ Bootsie Butsenzeller turns into a real crowd-pleaser time and again. His extensive record collection contains new wave, rock, punk, world, funk and disco. He reads the room like no other, until no one remains still. Regularly seen in concert temples like the AB, De Roma, Trix, but just as well in Gravenhof.
