BLACK HUMOR UNDER THE DUST OF AMERICA In a dilapidated farmhouse in Illinois, we get a glimpse into a dysfunctional family. Dodge and Halie try in vain to keep their sons Tilden and Bradley in line. Nothing to worry about, nothing to see here. Until grandson Vince comes blowing in and no one recognizes him. Or do they? While his girlfriend Shelly wonders what kind of farce she has ended up in, a family secret mercilessly makes its way to the surface. With BURIED CHILD // black humor under the dust of America , Compagnie Gardavoe brings a raw psychological drama full of wry humor. Cheerful yet razor-sharp, it exposes all illusions about family and coming home. A new translation of Sam Shepards Buried Child and thus the Flemish premiere of this award-winning masterpiece. Just like the previous productions TEN OORLOG (2018) and CONFITUUR (2023), Compagnie Gardavoe is once again resolutely choosing location theater. The performances will take place at a unique location in Aalst (to be announced). The fusion of art forms is also in Gardavoe's DNA: theater is central, but goes hand in hand with live music, choreography, and visual arts.
