AZNAVOUR 100 ‘HIER ENCORE’

Charles Aznavour, one of the world's greatest entertainers with a repertoire of more than 1200 chansons, is an integral part of music history. Voor Frank Mercelis is this project a personal dream. Aznavour's music is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. With his experience in numerous line-ups and performances, he is the ideal person to shape this project. The VRT Bigband has excelled for more than a decade in versatility and enthusiasm to discover new repertoire. Under the expert direction of conductor Dree Peremans, the band masters various genres, from swing, standards, bebop, contemporary arrangements, and now... the chansons of Charles Aznavour. Aznavour 100 ‘Hier encore’ will be a tribute to a very recognizable voice, with a stimulating combination of his most famous chansons such as La Bohème, Emmenez-moi and For Me Formidable, interspersed with surprising, less famous repertoire. On Saturday, October 31, 2026, they will be on stage at the PLAZAnterikken in Cinema Plaza in Duffel.
