On the sidelines of May 17, International Day Against Homophobia, Lesbophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, the month of June is dedicated to celebrating the pride of the LGBTQIA+ community. It is an opportunity to make visible the struggles of the past but also those of today to preserve rights and those still not acquired around the world. Pride marches are organized in different major cities on all five continents as well as events around the community. Beginning of June and in this context, La Villa with its partners in the North-West offers a colorful program to celebrate, together, all these prides that bring together a great diversity of gender. From June 3 to 13 throughout the North-Ouest de Bruxelles At the Berchem-Sainte Agathe Un library, a slam writing workshop "Existing without justifying oneself" in chosen non-mixed Queer, a Queer Book club hosted by Victoria Garage, a queer activist and multidisciplinary Brussels artist, a reading Drag Unique en son Genre, an evening of surveying by the League of Families on the book "Protecting our children" - on the amalgamation between gender and sexualization by Gabrielle Richard At Archipel19 A drag bingo with Raoul Les Mécaniques. At the Jette Un library, a show of erotic and contemporary tales about genders Jetuil Nouvouzel by Julien Staudt. At the Ganshoren Une library, listening to podcasts for adults and children from 7 years old with the League of Families followed by a discussion that will address the experience of LGBTQIA+ families (Breakfast & big questions: the podcast for parents who would like to have an answer to everything – Episodes: Les Familles & Les Transidentités produced by Cécile Cocq and Sophie de Brabandere). For the little ones, there will also be tale listening and readings. At La Villa La, screening of the documentary film "Chosen Family" in the presence of director Elisa VDK, awareness stands with the Refuge asbl, the AIDS Prevention Platform, and the Rainbow House, an open mic stage, and a Queer Stand-up show with Frigolite, Amandine, Le Pti Kilian, Ilyas, and Lassyri.
