West Flanders has a rich tradition of stand-up comedians, both beginners and established names. Focus-WTV is happy to put that talent in the spotlight this summer with a series of free comedy evenings at special locations.
In Koekelare Jan-Bart De Muelenaere and Kjen Descheemaecker provide an evening full of humour and recognizable stories. Make yourself comfortable in the historic garden of Huis Proot: bring your favourite garden chair, folding chair, blanket, or cushion and enjoy a cosy summer evening in the open air. A free drink is offered to complete the casual atmosphere.
Jan-Bart De Muelenaere, from Roeselare, has been a fixture in the Flemish comedy world for years. He is known for, among other things, his theatre show Over Leven in West Flanders, his performances at the Nerdland Festival, and his work for radio and television.
Hoofdact Kjen Descheemaecker combines sharp stand-up comedy with his talent as a former Belgian beatbox champion. With recognizable observations, musical interludes, and impressive vocal sound effects, he developed a style all his own. After years of experience in the comedy circuit, he is currently working on the try-outs of his first full-length show Ken je Kjen?.
This comedy evening brings two strong West Flemish voices together and guarantees a relaxed and atmospheric summer evening full of humour in a unique, historic setting.
